Title: Operations Assistant
Location Address: 1201 E Cerritos, Anaheim, California 92805
Work Shift: 1st Shift – 8 hours.
(1st Shift 6:00AM-2:30PM 2nd Shift 2:00PM-10:30PM 3rd Shift 10:00PM – 6:30AM)
Targeted Pay Range: $20.63 - $24
Summary: The Operations Assistant will assist in all aspects of purchasing and inventory for a HDPE extruded plastics products factory. This includes entering production reports, purchasing for stock and non-items, performing, and entering cycle counts, shipping, and receiving functions. The candidate must have a hands-on background with purchasing and inventory in a manufacturing environment. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant by managing safety training, assisting various departments, and handling purchasing and inventory functions.
Safety Training:
· Facilitate safety training for new hires and existing employees (English & Spanish).
· Translate training materials as needed (existing content provided).
· Assist in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Departmental Support:
· Provide clerical assistance to the Operations and Warehouse Managers.
· Respond to inquiries and complete assigned tasks promptly.
· Maintain accurate and organized documentation.
Purchasing and Inventory:
· Manage all aspects of purchasing and inventory for HDPE extruded plastics products.
· Generate purchase orders, manage stock and non-stock items, and conduct cycle counts.
· Enter production reports, manage shipping and receiving functions, and ensure efficient material flow.
· Interact and build positive relationships with vendors.
· Monitor safety stock levels and manage the vendor list.
· Operate JDE inventory system, database, and Excel spreadsheets proficiently.
· Provide backup support to the Shipping Clerk as needed.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong bilingual skills (English and Spanish) - both written and spoken communication.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and database management.
· Experience with JDE or similar inventory management systems a plus.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Highly detail-oriented and quality-focused.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Required:
· Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· Read, written and speak Spanish and English experience is also required.
· Basic mathematical skills.
· Basic computer skills.
· One to three years’ experience is also required.
