Job Description
Essential Job Functions
- Directs the maintenance work force and provides on-site expertise.
- Ensures that work is accomplished in a safe and efficient manner.
- Reviews work planning and scheduling with the production planner.
- Ensures quality of work adhering to all safety standards.
- Ensure that equipment availability is adequate to meet the production plan.
- Works with plant or production supervision to ensure any operator performed maintenance duties are facilitated.
- Works with the Maintenance Manager to ensure all maintenance craft employees are properly qualified and trained for all maintenance work assigned.
- Enforces environmental regulations.
- Focuses downward and is highly visible in the field.
- Champions proactive maintenance vs. reactive maintenance.
- Administers encouragement and discipline to direct employees.
- Monitors the CMMS.
- Implements preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Works with procurement and external vendors for purchase of supplies, parts, and obtaining competitive bids for equipment.
- Monitors shop qualifications and quality standards for outside contractors.
- Develops standards for major maintenance overhauls and outages.
- Manage maintenance team's maintenance budget.

Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience with assembly line machinery including PLC programming.
- Excellent reading, writing and math skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and mechanical skills. Be able to read blueprints.
- Basic computer skills using Excel and Word.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence culture from reactive to proactive maintenance methodologies.
- Must be willing to work off shift hours (as needed)
