JOB DESCRIPTION
Overall Position Summary and Objectives The Immediate Office of the Director, within the NIH Office of the Director, provides leadership in the development and implementation of policies and programs in support of biomedical research and communications and manages and coordinates the activities of the National Institutes of Health. The incumbent for this position serves as a Program Specialist (Travel Coordinator) in the Immediate Office of the Director. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulations and government travel policy and procedures.

DELIVERABLES
- Coordinates with program area to maintain an awareness of upcoming travel and ensure adequate lead times to prepare applicable documentation (e.g., notification of foreign travel, sponsored travel). - Daily
- Advises travelers of and assist with any need for specialized travel documents such as visas or passports. - Daily
- Performs program evaluation in assigned areas, which may include grants review, program support management; financial management; travel preparation; procurement; quality assurance; management analysis; and/or administrative management. - Daily
- Prepares and submits purchase requests. - Daily
- Makes travel arrangements for the IMOD staff and submits in CGE for approval - Daily
- Prepares travel forecasts and submits for conference approval. - Quarterly
