Job Description:

Bend Plastic Surgery is currently seeking an experienced Operating Room - Scrub Nurse (Scrub RN) to join our team in Bend, OR. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The Scrub RN will be working directly with our surgeon and assist him all cosmetic operations in our OR. The Scrub RN will work Tuesdays with a start time of 7:30 AM and an end time of 04:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Work with the surgical team to ensure the safety and comfort of the patient
• Perform preoperative assessments, including patient history and physical exam
• Assist with the administration of anesthesia as needed
• Monitor patient vital signs during surgery
• Assist the surgeon during the procedure as a scrub RN, passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
• Know how to scrub into a surgery
• Understand and know Operating Room surgical instruments
• Know sterile technique
• Administer medications as necessary
• Documents all patient care with proficiency in compliance with Bend Plastic Surgery policies and procedures in the electronic medical record (Nextech)
• Communicates (both written and orally) effectively and maintains professional relationships with caregivers, staff, patients, and guests
• Identifies work-related problems with possible solutions and implements solution(s) within scope of practice, as appropriate
• Participates in creating intentional relationships and demonstrates focused attitudes and behaviors that enhance the care experience
• Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests.
• Conducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality. Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the organization’s corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violation of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all organizational investigations and proceedings.
• May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned.

Requirements & Experience:

• Active nursing license in the state of Oregon
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience as an Operating Room - Scrub Nurse (Scrub RN)
• General surgical experience required
• Plastics experience preferred
• Ability to work Tuesday’s with a start time of 07:30 AM and an end time of 04:00 PM
• BLS and ACLS certification required
