SalaryJoin our team at Chesapeake Technology International (CTI) as an OpenGL Software Engineer! We are a fast-growing software, systems, and operational support corporation dedicated to providing cutting-edge technologies for military and security applications.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance graphics applications using OpenGL for various defense and commercial applications. You will work closely with a team of talented engineers to design, implement, and optimize real-time 3D rendering and visualization features.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software applications
- Work effectively as part of a team with a technical lead providing guidance and oversight
- Provide and receive feedback in code reviews to maintain high code quality and adherence to coding standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and practices
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation that improve the stability, performance, and quality of the software
- Identify and resolve software defects and performance issues
- Stay up-to-date with the latest software development trends and technologies
This is a remote position with travel requirement as needed to various customer sites.
Requirements
Necessary skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- 3 years of experience in programming, engineering, or related work
- Proficiency in Java, C++, or similar object-oriented programming language
- Proficiency with OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL)
- Proficiency with linear algebra
- Familiarity with Model View Projection transformations
- Familiarity with OpenGL rendering pipeline
- Version control systems, such as Git
- Build tools, such as Gradle or Maven
- Experience driving technical decisions, including the ability to break down problems, identify solutions, and communicate the process and conclusions to an engineering team
- Initiative and the ability to work independently and collaborate within a team
- Ability to communicate effectively via multiple mediums and with management, co-workers, and customers, both technical and non-technical
- Proficiency in writing clean code and leveraging best practices for implementation, documentation, and testing
- The ability to obtain a US security clearance post start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
