SalaryJob Description: Looking for onsiteNetwork Engineer resource to refresh legacy switches in a multi-floor building & garage facility. Network engineering experience in Layer 2 and Layer 3 configuration syntax build, backup and restore. Also, rack/stack and deploying layer one port enumeration between device components and troubleshoot any layer one issues during installation and configuration phase of deployment.
Skills:
· translate installation guide requirements to site planning preparation checklist
· Be able to gather requirements and build port enumeration excel spreadsheet to hardware component(s) connectivity
· Work with Project Manager on approved maintenance windows to migrate off legacy switches to new switches per floor
· understand physical medium connection such as cable type & transceiver types (Fiber MMF/SMF, SFP, Twinax, e.g.) and troubleshoot faulty transceivers/cabling
· Ability to run through Bill of Materials and cross verify layer one components have been received
· Port Connectivity and layer one troubleshooting
· Work with customer to RMA any components deemed defective during troubleshooting and staging phases
· Update Layer 1 and Rack Elevations Visio drawings
· Solid understanding of Layer 2 and layer 3 protocols

· Coordinate decommissioning of end of life/end of sale equipment and maintain inventory lists or replacement devices and deploy
· Solid experience and foundation in routing & switching protocols with expert level troubleshooting skills
· Proven experience in adding devices into existing spanning tree topology and isolating root cause for scenarios like spanning-tree loops, flapping, and/or layer 3 SVI’s not coming up
Rack & Stack Requirements: Has necessary toolsets for setup install and working laptop with console
o Necessary tools to rack & stack new switches
