IGS is seeking a Part-Time On CallWarehouse Specialist with exceptional organizational and management skills which will be utilized to manage and maintain our client’s warehouse operations and inventory. The right candidate will have the availiblity to be On Call or pick up a shift at short notice. The ideal candidtate should have a proven track record of experience in inventory management, shipping, receiving, packing, and unpacking of products. The ideal Warehouse Specialist should work efficiently without compromising on accuracy and adhere to safety standards. We are searching for a candidate who is self-motivated, with a strong work ethic who can undertake new responsibilities with enthusiasm. The Warehouse Specialist should have an extraordinary memory to recall product details, warehouse layout, and shipping information. Additionally, they need to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with other team members in completing tasks and fulfilling orders. This should be done while ensuring efficient workflow and documentation in accordance with the company policies.

Job Skills:

· Prior experience in Inventory Management.

· Prior experience in Shipping & Receiving.

· Prior experience with Inventory Control.

· Prior experience with Warehouse Management Systems.

· Prior experience in Logistics Management.

· Prior experience working in a warehouse.

· Knowledge of operating a forklift

· Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours and carry loads up to 80 pounds.

· Ability to work independently and safely.

Job Requirements:

All applicants should have a high school diploma or a GED. Certification in the operation of a forklift truck is not necessary but would be considered a plus. Applicants should have prior experience working in a warehouse. An experience of 2 to 3 years in a similar role would be preferred. Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening. Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required. Please note: this is an On Call position between the hours of 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday. Hours will not be scheduled, you will be On Call.

Job Duties

Packaging Requisitions.

  • Properly package each requisition for shipping, including ensuring the appropriate size container and packing material. The Contractor shall include a copy of the requisition with each order. For orders comprising more than one box or container, the boxes or containers shall be sequentially numbered. The Containers used should be the most cost-effective materials.

Shipping Requisitions.

  • Ship orders according to the instructions listed on each requisition. Shipment of orders via Over the Road Packaging Service, United Parcel Service, Federal Express or any other courier is prohibited unless the requestor pays for the shipping, or the shipping costs are covered by the company’s base funding.
  • All orders exceeding a total weight of 500 pounds combined may require the services of a freight forwarding company. The Contractor shall submit these requisitions to the COR/Alternate COR and/or Warehouse Manager

Administrative Tasks

Requisitions may be received by facsimile and mail. Upon receipt, the Material Coordinator (in absent of material coordinator, the Warehouse Specialist) shall:

· Date stamps each requisition,

· Check orders with the stock inventory and identify back orders and items not stocked,

· Ensure requests for the private sector are not for accountable forms.

· Input mailing information into the designated system,

· When orders are filled, warehouse personnel will deduct ordered items from the inventory system and prepare all shipping documents for the orders.

Inventory Control

Warehouse Specialists shall monitor the balance of all inventories stored at the warehouse, using the Government furnished Inventory Database. The system provides the capability to access the summary inventory, show orders, receipts, and highlight accountable forms. When the summary inventory indicates the reorder point has been reached, the Contractor(s) shall notify the Warehouse Manager, who will complete Custom Form 205 to inform the Print Team to order the low inventory item(s).

  • The Warehouse Manager and the Contractor shall maintain the Government Furnished "sample" inventory of all items stocked at the Warehouse. This "sample inventory" contains a copy of each of the forms stocked at the warehouse and the current revision dates.
  • The Warehouse Team Lead I and Warehouse Specialist will make bi-weekly spot checks of the inventory to ensure accuracy. Discrepancies in the inventory should be reported to the Warehouse Manager/Material Coordinator as soon as possible, but no later than the close of the business day the discrepancy is detected. The Material Coordinator shall provide a bi-weekly list/sheet to submit a monthly report to the Warehouse Manager and COR. This is a task to be added/reported in the monthly activity report and quality control program.

Warehouse Services

  • Provide warehouse services, including receiving, storing, loading, and shipping all types of inventories, orders, supplies and materials.
  • Verify the quantity, description, and unit of issue of all incoming and outgoing shipments. Store, stack and palletize all applicable items in the Warehouse area. Ensure that all items are properly marked, tagged, and labeled.
  • Shall be trained to operate all types of Government Furnished material handling equipment. This includes forklifts that are: stand-up, sit-down, manually operated, electric with the capacity of lifting 2,000-6,000 pounds, up to 194 inches high. Use 24-foot ladders to retrieve and store warehouse products and office supplies into shelving and racks system.
  • Verify that all incoming deliveries are properly addressed to the Manager, and erroneous deliveries are returned to sender or United States Postal Service.
  • Unload incoming freight, verify all quantities, sign supporting documents and store the shipments in the designated shelf areas of the warehouse.
  • Notify either the Alternate COR or Warehouse Manager of any shipments that contain damaged freight or other shipping discrepancies. If the Alternate COR and Warehouse Manager is not on site, photograph (can use a personal camera phone) and forward by email to both. This notification shall be given before the shipment is signed for and before the freight carrier leaves the warehouse.
  • Shipments shall be stored in appropriate shelf bins in accordance with the warehouse storage facility restocking philosophy.
  • The level of stock determines the bins to be stocked, and the frequency shall be a part of the contractor's quality control program. An acceptable measurement is that some stocking of bins shall be done each workday.
  • The warehouse Specialist shall remove all trash, sweep, and mop aisle, keep racks and shelving units’ dust and dirt free in the storage area daily. In this context, daily is best-defined using a "clean as you go" approach. The expectation is that the bins will be stocked each day upon receipt of the material and the trash and other debris will be picked up and deposited in the designated trash container. The Warehouse Specialist shall always keep the bin and staging areas clean and free of debris and trash.
