Providence Care is hiring full time On-Call Registered Nurses to join our growing team to provide full time on-call services to our hospice patients after hours. On-Call nurses act as a support role to full-time Case Managers within the Spartanburg, Greenville, Simpsonville and surrounding areas in the upstate of South Carolina.
Monday thru Thursday nights 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 a.m. each night
Responsibilities include:
- Taking incoming phone calls from patients and/or family members regarding patient needs: medication, supplies, symptom management, psychosocial needs, emergencies, terminal events, and overall care.
- The On Call nurse will collaborate with Physician for new orders, and with Case Manager to advise of needs and/or changes.
- If site visit is necessary, a 1 hour response time is expected.
- Typical call outs are approximately but not limited to 2-10 times a weekend as well as scheduled visits, post admission follow up visits, wound care visits and regular admissions.
Requirements:
- Unencumbered RN license in the state you are applying or multi-state license.
- 1 year Hospice experience required
- 1 year of active nursing experience required
- Driver's license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
- Willingness to cover area within 1-2 hour radius and/or cover farther distances in emergency situations
- Compassionate heart to help others in their final moments of life
