Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Works alone or with other employees in accordance with instructions from department heads and other supervisory personnel.
- Inspects, maintains, and repairs all tools, pumps, and specialized equipment. Including but not limited to, grass cutting equipment (mowers, weedwackers, and flail mowers, generators, pneumatic saws and chain saws.
- Inspects, adjusts, maintains, repairs and rebuilds two and four cycle engines, as well as pneumatic tools and equipment.
- Pump repair: chemical, hydraulic, centrifugal, positive displacement, etc.
- Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment repairs.
- Pump drive repair.
- Drill press, tap & die.
- Plumbing, pipe threading (copper, steel, PVC) water, sewer lines.
- Electrical repair (building, motor).
- Inspects, adjusts, maintains, repairs, and rebuilds accessory tools used in conjunction with the equipment described above.
- Make deliveries when needed.
- Handle various daily building maintenance duties including hanging signs, painting, plumbing work, masonry, carpentry work, janitorial, maintenance and repair of mechanized facility gates, troubleshooting various building maintenance systems.
- Performs other similar or less skilled work as assigned.
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Equipment repair: 2 years
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Computer skills
- Uses specialized repair tools such as cutting torch and arc welder.
- Welding, brazing, grinding, sand blasting. Torch cutting (air, acetylene).
- Required to read from schematics, drawings, and instruction manuals.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Class A CD.
Physical Requirements:
- Must possess manual dexterity.
- Must have visual acuity.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
