The Staff Services Manager (SSM) I is responsible for supervising a team comprised of analytical, IT and clerical staff that provide the full realm of administrative and operational functions supporting OHR. This includes business services, facilities, contracts, procurement, purchasing, budget tracking, front reception support, and various other administrative functions.
Under the general direction of the SSM II, the SSM I functions include:
- Provides daily supervision, direction, training, and support for the Operations team; identifies priorities and ensures workload is completed timely and effectively.
- Establishes and communicates roles and responsibilities; communicates frequently with team members about key information and updates.
- Motivates and provides performance feedback; completes probationary reports and annual appraisals for all staff.
- Formulates policies and procedures related to office operations; manages the development, recommendations, and implementation of short and long-term goals and objectives.
- Communicates regularly with OHR upper management and keeps them apprised of potential problems/issues; provides thorough recommendations on solutions and adequate follow-through on identified issues.
- Facilitates meetings of both small and large scale; provides updates and guidance to OHR management regarding operations procedures; develops and partakes in training sessions both virtually and in-person.
