Job Description
The Office Services Assistant provides administrative and program support to the Travel and Events Manager, and general office support. Responsibilities include independently and accurately processing a high volume of college fair and panel invitations, database management, and preparing and shipping recruitment materials in a timely manner. Provides program support for all major public events including preparing registration materials, program setup and providing support the day of the program. Occasional evening and weekend work required.
Required Qualifications
- Administrative and/or customer service experience in an academic or professional office environment.
- Experience with computer functions such as data entry and word processing using software such as Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, and handle mass mailings and filing.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently with careful attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Must be dependable, approachable, and present a professional image in representing the university to prospective families and university staff members.
- Strong multitasking, organizational, project management, and problem solving skills.
- Must possess the ability to be flexible, and quickly and smoothly handle unanticipated changes and needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Must be able to safely move and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Experience with event planning support such as preparing registration materials and event setup.
- Working knowledge of SLATE.
