Summary:
The primary responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to, providing safety and security to employees and property both internally and externally, surveying and assessing potential risks and threats, assisting law enforcement in the investigative process and recommending improvements for security operations to the Director of Security, as well as assisting in other areas as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides overwatch and physical security to collection teams.
- Drives a follow vehicle and provides overwatch security to collections teams while in transit. Maintains competent vehicle operations and obeys all traffic laws.
- Is the third person in a three-person collection van and provides security, situational awareness, and tactical awareness throughout the shift.
- Maintains situational and tactical awareness throughout the shift.
- Preforms a rapid site survey of the location the collection team is entering and makes a rapid, accurate, decision regarding safety concerns.
- Continually monitors the tactical situation and makes accurate and effective evaluations regarding team safety.
- While working in the Security Operations Center (SOC), conducts regular interior security sweeps and evaluates and follows up on any safety concerns or potentially hazardous situations.
- While working in the SOC, logs security sweeps and any unusual incidents on information technology workspace.
- While working in the SOC, conducts external security sweeps of the exterior of the facility at staggered times to prevent a detectable pattern. Logs any unusual incidents or safety/security concerns on Slack.
- While working in the SOC, monitors security camera feeds and observes, logs, and promptly and effectively responds to any observed incidents.
- Maintains all certifications, licenses, and training requirements.
- Responds to workplace violence incidents using appropriate levels of force.
- Provides first aid to victims at the appropriate level corresponding to their training.
- Security staff will display a welcoming and positive attitude to all persons.
- Security staff will provide access control to the Accel Entertainment Office.
- Security staff will politely challenge employees/visitors if Credentials/Identification/Visitor Badge is not visible.
- Responds to weather, natural disaster, structural emergencies, fires, etc. and makes an evaluation.
- In the event of an evacuation we will assist by directing employees to evacuation points.
- Take photos of suspicious persons, vehicles, or situations and distributes via Slack or to a security supervisor
Qualifications:
- Retired or active law enforcement experience
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Terminal Handler's License from the Illinois Gaming Board
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Frequently sit for prolonged periods.
- Frequently required to stand.
- Frequently required to walk in a rapid pace.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to drive long distances for operational activities.
- May engage in rapid physical movements in response to emergency situations.
- Occasionally required to lift/push light weights 35-50lbs or more.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral, depth, and ability to adjust or focus.
- Utilize visual acuity to operate firearms.
- Occasionally engage in physical techniques to control physically resisting subjects with an appropriate level of force.
- Remain certified in CPR/AED and first aid and provide an initial response to medical emergencies.
- Exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Protective equipment is required that may include firearms, flashlights, restraint gear.
- The noise level in the work environment usually is moderate.
