Office Ergonomist

DORN Companies is a wellness-based injury prevention and ergonomics company passionate about reducing and eliminating employees’ pain and injury risk by providing collaborative expertise to onsite safety and management teams utilizing trainings, body mechanics coaching, ergonomic and workstation assessments, equipment and supplies adjustment and purchase recommendations, and deep tissue therapy for pain relief.

Job Summary:

This is a part-time, contracted position (1099) without benefits. The position requires a seasoned professional with the confidence to develop collaborative relationships with the onsite team to uncover safety issues and determine corrective priorities, with the goal of significantly reducing or eliminating employee injuries and pain.
The Specialist will provide once to twice a month, office workstation assessments, self-care training, recommendations for improvement of processes, equipment adjustments/replacements, or recommendations for purchases to improve safety. Sessions will be either ½ day blocks (3+ assessments) or a full day block (6+ assessments). The Specialist will provide reports to onsite management and to DORN regarding all training, coaching, and recommendations undertaken by the specialist during each visit.

Requirements:

• Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS) with additional license or certification in your state as one of the following:
  • Athletic Trainer (AT)
  • Physical Therapist (DPT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
  • Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
• Minimum 3+ years' experience in office ergonomics and injury prevention
• Education and experience in movement or exercise science, kinesiology, sports training/coaching.
• Strong observation and report writing skills (with templates).
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with onsite management team, client employees and DORN staff.
• Proficient technical skills to include basic computer skills, phone apps, email, documenting in Word, attaching and emailing documents, utilizing links in emails, etc.)
• Active Liability Insurance
• Up to date Vaccinations (including Covid vaccination)
• Degree or Certification in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, etc. (preferred)

• Ability to make a difference in a largely underserved population, the average hardworking people who cannot otherwise afford these services necessary to keep them healthy and working.

Job Details:

**Location:** San Diego, CA
**Start Date:** Immediate
**Hours:** This position is as requested/on-call. Requests for services will be made in 1/2-day blocks or full day blocks. Requests must be fulfilled within 7-10 business days
**Availability:** Onsite assessments must be completed within 7-10 business days from request. Reports due within 5 business days after being onsite.
**Pay:** $250 for half-day, $500 for full-day
