Occupational Therapist:
Must be courteous to patients, visitors and employees
Administers diagnostic testing procedures to determine the extent of patient's impairment and the prognosis for improvement. Identifies pertinent patient problems. (20%)E
Sets objective, measurable treatment goals incorporating patient's goal for functional outcome. Establishes a treatment plan based on patient needs and patient family input. (20%)E
Performs treatment procedures and fabricates adaptive equipment/splints and adapts therapy techniques to meet the needs of patients unable to comprehend verbal commands or voluntarily carry out a regime of therapeutic exercises. Reevaluates patients, modifies treatment plan and procedures based on patient progress.(20%)E
Provides objective, analytic documentation of patient care, patient/family education and information regarding units of service. Communicates effectively with medical/allied health personnel regarding patient progress, needs, and discharge planning. (15%)E
Maintains Occupational Therapy equipment and inventory of supplies. Completes purchase orders. (5%)
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment program, quality improvement initiatives, safety, environmental and infection control standards. (5%)E
Trains new personnel as required, assists the Manager with on the job training.
Provides guidance and direction to COTAs aides and affiliating students.
Enhances professional growth and development through approved participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Participates in appropriate in-service educational programs.
Attends meetings as required. (5%)
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. (5%)
OT Clinical Specialist
Participates in clinical consultation and co-treatment with rehabilitation staff.
2. Plans and presents in service education and continuing education courses as requested
3. Performs the duties of a staff physical therapist or occupational therapist.
4. Maintains professional growth and development through approved seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in field of expertise.
5. Participates in the clinical instruction of physical therapy or occupational therapy students, as requested.
6. Attends meetings as required.
7. Assists in training/orientation of new personnel as request.
8. Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.
Occupational Therapist
Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapy program with a Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
One to two years experience preferred.
Adheres to the Professional Code of Ethics of the AOTA. Maintains current CPR certification.
Demonstrates current clinical competency. Good interpersonal and organizational skills
MATHEMATICAL and COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Basic computer skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
OT Clinical Specialist
Entry level degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy from an accredited Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy Program.
Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and minimum of three (3) years clinical experience.
Documentation of Specialist Certification.
Holds current National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
