ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- To provide engaging activities to promote child learning and reduce challenging behaviors.
- To foster the development of executive function of children.
- To help create environments and interactions that promote the development of Executive Skills, so that positive changes in the behavior and outcomes of young children in school, at home, and in life occur.
- To help develop student's higher-order cognitive skills that involve behavior regulation and goal-directed activities for children.
- To develop cognitive skills that will improve daily skills such as:
- Attention
- Task initiation
- Metacognition
- Planning prioritization
- Emotional Control
- Goal-Directed Persistence
- Flexibility
- Organization
- Response Inhibition
- Stress Tolerance
- Time Management
- Working Memory
- Other tasks and assignments as determined by the Director of Special Services.
- Must be a Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Maine.
- Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).
- Ability to establish goals, priorities, and timelines and to plan work accordingly. (Strategic Planner).
- Strong critical thinking and interpretive skills to analyze situations, define problems and develop/implement solutions.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas and facts.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
