Position Goals: The OH&S will identify and assist the site in meetings and integrating procedures and philosophical changes necessary to establish and keep all employees, work sites and processes both safe and environmentally compliant. This position will use hands-on approach to help assure organizational compliance of applicable OSHA and EPA federal, state, local and business safety, health and environmental regulatory requirements.
Summary: This position will ensure guidance and timely implementation which is known and followed by all employees, facilities, equipment and operations located at the assigned site. Accountabilities will include organizing and maintaining internal procedures, gathering and maintaining reports, coordinating and scheduling safety training of plant personnel to assure continuity of all environmental and Occupational Health, safety and security activities for the site and other job sites
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain safety standards to assure compliance with environmental, health, safety and security of employees
- Assure compliance with applicable OSHA and EPA, Federal, State and Local regulations/requirements
- Work closely to Department Managers to ensure compliance of all training issues
- Regularly communicate with Supervisor work progress, questions or concerns
- Assure that the processes are in place to evaluate and conduct incident, injury review process and investigations
- Assure standardization in the accomplishments and implementation of all facility training issues.
- Effective, accurate and timely communication with internal departments & management
- Establishment of a methodology for training compliance
- Ensure reliable, accurate and timely recording keeping while maintaining appropriate level of confidentiality
- Adherence to all company policy
- An undergraduate degree in industrial safety or commensurate experience required
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
- Experience with auditing and inspections, OSHA, EPA and regulatory submissions, record keeping requirements and action-item projects
- Satisfactory work record including good attendance
- Able to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Possess a valid driver license, CDL Class A preferred
- Ability to work in outdoor environments
- Must be able to enter enclosed workspace and not exhibit fear or be claustrophobic
- Fluent in English
- A solid, demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA and EPA Federal, State and local regulatory compliance requirements
- Ability to systematically analyze situations in a fast paced environment and provide effective recommendations
Working Conditions: This position requires work in inclement weather conditions, along with frequent traveling to job sites for observation, travel to satellite offices as well as time in the office. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected. This position is an On-Call position.
