Occupational Health Nurse Overview:
- Responsible for providing comprehensive work place medical and/or wellness services, which may include patient triage/evaluation/referral into the health care system, phlebotomy, immunization administration, BLS instruction, hearing testing and other testing/duties as company-specific/contracted needs arise per OSHA guidelines.
- May require supervision of HRA team members as well as oversight and implementation of program-specific policy and procedures.
- Requires ongoing up to date knowledge of OSHA guidelines, workman's Compensation laws and FMLA guidelines.
- Wellness and medical background and skills essential.
Qualifications:
- Education: Registered Nurse (*may be LPN on Company request).
- Licensure: Registered Nurse license*.
- Experience: Minimum three years clinical experience.
- Certifications: Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period. Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge in medical and allied health services.
- With a strong interest in promoting health, wellness, safety & prevention activities & programs in the corporate setting.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have good computer skills.
- CPR instructor preferred. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and respond quickly in an emergency.
- Equipment Used: Computer, various general medical equipment.
