Observation Technician

Summary

Under the supervision of the Manager, assists with clinical and patient care activities on the Outpatient Observation Unit.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Must possess one of the following:

• Current certification to practice as a paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
• Current National Registry Certification as a paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Three years of equivalent clinical work experience.
• 1 year as an ED Care Assistant and enrollment to begin final year of an accredited school of nursing program

1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Three years of direct patient care experience.
2.  Electrocardiogram (EKG) experience.
3.  Patient transport experience.
