Job Description
Are you an Obstetrician-Gynecologist interested in Consulting with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services?
Incumbents in this job evaluate patient needs, review cases, and administer appropriate obstetric-gynecologic plans and prepares treatment programs based on patient information.
In this role, you will:
  • Serve on Utah's weekly Medicaid Medical Review Committee to review prior authorization decisions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to coordinate care and promote preventative services.
  • Analyze data and utilize evidence-based practices to provide recommendations on clinical decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date on trends and best practices in healthcare quality and population health.
  • Provide expertise in best standards of care.
  • No direct patient care.

Note: as of July 1, 2021, State of Utah Employees must either reside in Utah or be in the process of relocating to within 30 days of their start date.

  • Obstetrician-gynecologist, licensed in the state of Utah
  • Demonstrated expertise in healthcare quality and population health

  • Commitment to improving the health and well-being of Medicaid members in Utah

Supplemental Information
  • Current unlimited Ob-gyn license in the State of Utah (MD).
  • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
