Job Summary
The Psychotherapy Supervisor provides clinical social work services with robust psychotherapy treatment modalities to patients through a primarily telehealth environment. Our practice leverages clinical experience and a diverse knowledge base to provide quality care and reliable service. This individual will utilize their expertise as a therapist and leader to collaborate within a dynamic interdisciplinary team that fosters continued learning and growth. The Supervisor will support an average weekly patient standard of 25 patients. The expectations of a Supervisor includes leading a supportive and collaborative weekly supervision group of 4-6 psychotherapists to mentor, co-sign when needed, provide training, and monitor performance. All Supervisors also attend twice-monthly meetings to provide feedback on supervisee performance and to receive ongoing supervision and support. The Psychotherapy Supervisor will have the opportunity to work closer with clinical leadership from developing training, program and resource development, and feedback when available.
Job Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibility Composition
60%- Direct Clinical care to patients with adherence to Rivia Mind's Practice model
25%- Conducting 1:1 meetings with supervisees, attending larger supervision meetings and lectures, providing ad-hoc support and performance feedback/coaching to supervisees, meeting with Clinical Leadership Team
15%- Notes, collateral contact, and administrative work related to patient care
Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent quality clinical care on a consistent basis that exemplifies Rivia Mind's
    culture, values, and guiding principles
  • Conducts holistic evaluations and develops curated treatment plans for patients
  • Provides psychotherapy leveraging various modalities (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing,
    etc.)
  • Provides clinical support and counseling to diverse patient populations in a tele-health
    environment
  • Coaches patients on how to manage ongoing health conditions and provides therapy to help
    patients make positive behavior changes
  • Counsels and provides crisis intervention for patients, including assessment and treatment of
    emotional and behavioral problems
  • Manage a patient standard of 25 patients seen per week with timely submission of thoroughly
    documented session notes
  • Keep up to date with all administrative and operations responsibilities related to patient care
    (notes, lost to follow up tracking, policies regarding appointment cancellations, etc)
  • Point of escalation for therapist productivity issues identified by Clinical Ops
  • Responsible for giving verbal warnings and guidance for performance improvement
  • Lead the team of direct reports (SWs/MHCs) to provide excellent patient care, providing
    training, mentorship and constructive feedback is provided as needed, and when appropriate
    create a positive work environment for the team:
    - Own onboarding and expectation setting for all new hires
    - Spot check notes for clinical quality concerns and adherence to Rivia's SOP
    - Co-sign notes as needed
  • Be familiar with all policies and procedures related to patient care, and be prepared to review
    them with the team when appropriate
  • Review and ensure adherence to employee policies regarding PTO and calendar management.
    Ensure team members are effectively following procedures and provide feedback regarding
    compliance as needed. Be the liaison between your team and People Ops for any team
    member needs (eg Long Term Leave, Bereavement, Performance Reviews)
  • Along with the Team Lead, conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with each therapist on the team to
    provide performance feedback, mentorship, and support:
    - Identify clinicians struggling with cases or adherence to Rivia Mind clinical playbook and
    provide coaching and support to ensure team is adherent
    - Identify cases to escalate to larger audience based on potential educational value (ex.
    monthly team meeting for MD review, Rivia Wide meetings) - Spot check/review at least 1-2 cases per week per therapist on the team
    - Invite review of any cases that meet criteria for review set out in supervision guidelines
  • Review and discuss clinical data sheet and any barriers or opportunities for improvement in
    adherence
  • Discuss patient complaints with eye toward improving patient experience
  • As needed, review & determine transfer patient requests, adhere to any disciplinary action
    procedures, review & approve timesheets (if applicable) and time off requests to ensure
    accuracy and proper coverage to maintain business and function needs
  • Provide constructive feedback and implement corrective action, or performance
    review/feedback with appropriate documentation when applicable, including verbal warnings
    and guidance for performance improvement
  • Provide ad-hoc support for therapists on the team via email or brief meetings
  • Ad hoc projects and back up support as assigned by Director of Psychotherapy
  • Meet with Team Lead biweekly and coach/supervise to become supervisor
  • Manage and provide oversight for the Team Lead
  • Responsible for addressing patient complaints and escalations with Team Lead (coaching
    Team Lead to deliver feedback)
  • Meet 1:1 (as needed) with team Psychiatric Supervisor to escalate when clinicians are not
    meeting standards, need further support, or have high risk patients or otherwise complicated
    patients
  • Attend weekly Rivia Wide meeting and participate actively as appropriate
  • Be an ambassador of Rivia Mind's culture through exemplifying our values and working with
    our mission at the forefront
  • Act as an active participant in supporting Rivia Mind culture initiatives
  • Share company announcements with team
  • Provide engaging, collaborative, and supportive environment for review of cases and clinical
    questions
  • Use the team meeting as a way to elevate the full team's knowledge and skills, while creating
    a culture of collaboration and growth
  • Promote a friendly work culture that encourages a fun, collaborative, and co-learning
    environment that benefits individuals well-being, self improvement and potential
  • Perform other related role and team function duties as assigned by department and group
    leaders

Qualifications
Required Education Level: Master's
Education Details: Masters in Social Work
Licensure/Certification Requirements
  • Valid New York state license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Modality certifications preferred

Additional Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
  • Five (5)+ years of psychotherapy experience across a wide range of modalities and diverse patient populations and diagnoses
  • At least (1) one year of Clinical Supervisor experience for 4 or more individuals
  • Use of psychotherapy modalities for individuals, couples or other niche patient populations preferred
  • Experience working with Patients in an Outpatient setting
  • Confidently and efficiently document concurrently within patient sessions
  • Effectively support a remote-first team with active engagement and positive outcomes

Compensation & Employment Details
Pay Range: $88,500 - $130,000
Pay Type: Salary

Work Environment: Remote or Hybrid option in NYC
Work Schedule: Variable - Cumulative 40 hours a week - within our hours of operation, which are M-F: 8am to 8pm, and Saturday 9am to 5 pm
Evenings and Weekend availability is beneficial, but not required
On-call is also not required
If Hybrid, one day per week on-site is required and it would be the same day of the week (I.e. Every Monday)
Consistent weekly schedule is necessary, but start and end times per day can be different each day of the week. For example, your schedule can be Monday: 9am to 5pm, Tuesday: 11am to 7pm, Wednesday: 8am to 4pm, Thursday: 10am to 6pm, Friday: 8am to 4pm.
Your schedule will be determined by you, prior to starting the role.
