- GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- The Dietary Supervisor supervises activities of the nutritional services department providing quality food services and prepares meals for patients and residents of the facility.
- EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Dietary Manager, entry level dietitian, or, Bachelor's degree in dietetics or preferred.
- WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in acute or extended care facility in applicable food service areas required.
- Knowledge of food preparation and food service management, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to analyze the problems inherent in satisfying the food tastes of hospital patients and Long Term Care Residents in accordance with dietetic standards.
- Ability to supervise staff in the service of food to hospital patients and Long Term Care Residents in a manner conducive to full performance and high moral.
- Ability to maintain records of food served, diets prepared, and other work performed.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, residents and hospital personnel.
- Ability to provide education to staff on food preparation and sanitation skills.
Salary Range
$21.25 - $29.75
