Nutrition Aide - Food Services
Per Diem, Variable Shift
Base Wage $18.93 to $27.46
Location: Skagit Valley Hospital
Job Summary
Performs technical nutritional care functions as directed by a dietitian.
Works effectively and cooperatively within the workplace.
Use current medical nutrition therapy protocols and follows established procedures, to accurately write special diets for patients to comply with diet orders.
Adhere to dietary considerations related to age specific needs of the populations served when writing or monitoring menus.
Review diet orders, prior to meal service for each meal and makes adjustments to menus to comply with ordered diets.
Process diet changes utilizing computer diet, discharge and transfer lists and cardexes to ensure that each patient receives the appropriate diet as ordered.
Ensure that nourishments ordered for patients correctly match diet orders and are delivered per the Nourishment Policy.
Ensure diet records are promptly updated with current diet orders.
Maintains neat, accurate and legible records.
Prepare accurate and timely tally sheets for kitchen employees.
Check tray line in a timely fashion to ensure meals are served on time.
Guideline - Reviews at least three trays per minute.
Control tray line to ensure efficiency.
Problem solves to correct problems when necessary.
Ensure that trays are attractive and follows the menu accurately.
Ensure accuracy and attractiveness of late tray set-ups.
Education
High School diploma or GED preferred. Relevant skills and ability may be substituted in lieu of education.
Experience/Training
Minimum one (1) year related experience required.
License/Certifications
Current Washington State Food Handler's Permit required.
