Good Samaritan Society Albert Lea is an 80-bed long-term skilled care and transitional care facility located in southern Minnesota in an area known as The Land Between the Lakes .
- Full Time 80 hours a bi-weekly pay period
- Evening Shift 12:30pm to 8:00pm
- Rotating Weekends
- Previous experience in staff scheduling preferred
Job Summary
Must be self-directed with a high level of accountability and minimal supervision. Primary role is adjusting and maintaining current staff work schedules. Included in this role: assigning, recording of nurse and nurse aide staff on daily/shift basis, through coordination with unit leadership; assessing unit needs throughout the facility and balancing the staffing through negotiation with charge nurses; anticipates immediate and near future staffing needs and works to resolve any last-minute high priority staffing issues; communicating staffing assignments to staff; updating staffing grid to ensure documentation of assignments made by shift and for the near future; documenting unit staff scheduling changes and unplanned paid time off (UPTO); and coordination of constant observers for the facility. Will be expected to track, document, and report staffing data to hospital leadership at staffing meetings. Must have strong communication and negotiation skills to work with multiple employees, leads, and department directors. Must be well organized, have high degree of self-motivation and independence and be flexible when needed to adjust schedules. Must use computer applications for email, scheduling, excel, and payroll. Must be able to work with interruptions, under stress, and be able to deescalate high-stress interactions.
Qualifications
Post secondary education or equivalent training in a health care or business related field is preferred.
Previous experience working with people or staffing issues desirable.
