Description
To teach the lab and/or clinical components of nursing courses in the Associate Degree, Practical Nursing or LPN to ADN Transition Programs.

Essential Duties
- Instruct and evaluate students in assigned area(s).
- Assist Lead Instructor of assigned courses and Program Director of Nursing with assigned instructional activities including but not limited to:
- Conduct clinical and/or lab at assigned site according to the hours needed per course.
- Maintain suitable class records that show student attendance, academic progress, and final evaluation related to SimLab and/or clinical rotation.
- Attend monthly nursing faculty meetings (call-in phone line available).
- Participate in professional development as directed, including meeting the North Carolina Board of Nursing Teaching & Learning requirement by the deadline established.
Qualifications
- RN with an unencumbered license to practice in NC with at least 2 years experience as an RN.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Desired clinical instruction to include - SimLab and/or Clinical Instruction- Pediatric, Maternal-Newborn, Mental Health, Med-Surg, Fundamentals/Long Term Care. If the desired clinical instructor area is in a specialty area (Peds, Maternal-Newborn, Mental Health), must have 1 year of experience in that area.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift objects from a lower to higher position or move objects horizontally from position to position.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and walk for substantial periods of time.
