Job Description
Yuba College (YC) is seeking an equity-minded, dynamic, collaborative, and innovative Instructor to serve as Nursing Faculty.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Provide theory and clinical instruction for Associate in Science Nursing Program in the areas of Medical-Surgical Nursing. Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the total nursing curriculum. Serve as a liaison between health agencies and the College. Will be assigned to teach Medical-Surgical Nursing in the ASN Nursing Program at the various campuses and Healthcare Facilities. Familiarity with online and interactive online instruction required.

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors in Nursing required by the Board of Registered Nursing:
CREDENTIAL: Hold a current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse and be free from any disciplinary action by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
(1) A master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing, education or administration. If a degree other than in nursing submit information verifying course work in nursing education."
AND Completion of at least one (1) years' experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a post-baccalaureate course which includes practice in teaching registered nursing.
AND (2) Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she is assigned, which can be met by:
(A) One (1) year's continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area;
OR
(B) One (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency.
