Qualifications
- Experience:
- LVN or RN License, 2 years (Required)
- DSD, 2 years (Preferred)
- long term care, 2 years (Required)
- License: LVN (Required) or RN ( Required); Current CPR- BLS
Part-time position with variable schedule.
This program is a 160 hour course that spans 6 weeks; consisting of classroom instruction, hands on field demonstration and of practical application (clinicals) preparing students to sit for state nurse assistant certification(s).
All clinicals are done hands on with the student and the residents in the Long-Term Care/ Skilled Nursing Facility. Primary responsibility includes planning, teaching and evaluating course participants in the classroom and clinical skills performance, leading to successful completion of the program.
Qualifications:
- One year of experience as a licensed nurse providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility plus one year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing. One Year experience as a CNA Instructor.
OR
- Two years of full-time experience as a licensed nurse, at least one year of which must be in the provision of direct patient care in a nursing facility. Prior to teaching a certification program, the instructor shall obtain a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education (BRN approved or administered by an accredited educational institution) in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing. One Year experience as a CNA Instructor.
