The Department of Corrections is currently accepting applications for Nursing Assistant 3 positions in locations throughout the state.

Part-time employees will receive some of the benefits listed above on a prorated basis. Candidates hired into positions that are less than 60% of a full-time position may not be eligible for all benefits.
Position Summary
These positions assisting in providing health care and services to Persons in Our Care in a correctional institution infirmary or health services unit. Duties include assisting Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Physicians with direct patient care, including tasks such as: assisting patients in activities of daily living, hygiene and treatments; determining and recording vitals; and assisting in minor procedures.
This position will perform patient record related clerical functions and other assigned duties in maintaining day-to-day functioning in a 24/7-unit operation.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 06-12 with a starting pay rate of $25.90/hour .
Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire.
Pay rates for individuals with prior state service shall be set in accordance with their full years of state service. Pay is expected to progress with full years of state service:
0 Years of Service $25.90/hour
1 Year of Service $26.44/hour
2 Years of Service $26.98/hour
3 Years of Service $27.52/hour
5 Years of Service $28.06/hour
10 Years of Service $28.60/hour
15 Years of Service $29.14/hour
This position is FLSA Non-Exempt. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Remote work options not available for these positions.
Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Applicants must possess current CPR certification at time of hire and maintain certification during employment.
Qualified Applicants will have experience: Using an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), performing CPR, and performing First Aid. Making accurate and complete observations and assessing patient status regarding changes in physical and mental condition of patients. Initiating action in emergency situations.
Well qualified candidates will be registered or eligible for registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Wisconsin .
Candidates will also benefit from experience: Working with a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural population. Maintaining a helpful and understanding attitude towards adults exhibiting hostile or other negative behavior.
