The School of Health invites you to consider a full-time faculty position in the Nursing Assistant program at WCTC. As a Full-Time Instructor for Nursing Assistant, your primary responsibility is to facilitate the learning and development of aspiring Nursing Assistants. You will be responsible for planning and delivering instructional content, assessing student performance, and creating an inclusive environment. A successful candidate will provide a technology-rich learning experience to inspire and engage students.
Under direct supervision of the Associate Dean, the primary responsibility is providing instruction to students enrolled in Nursing Assistant.
1. Develop and maintain course curriculum. Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.2. Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.3. Assess student attainment of learning outcomes and critical life skills (both formative and summative), at the course, program, and college level.4. Collect, report, analyze, and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level.5. Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity.6. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.7. Participate as a productive member of a team.8. Maintain college learning resources and equipment.9. Participate in recruitment and retention activities.10. Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain occupational competency, and ensure knowledge of current laws and regulations related to the profession(s) in which instruction is provided.
Minimum QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
1. Must meet State and Federal certification requirements for a Nursing Assistant Instructor (RN licensed to practice in Wisconsin, who has at least 2 years of experience working as a registered nurse, of which at least one year of experience shall be providing care in a nursing home or long-term care facility).
2. Must be a Registered Nurse with an active nursing license from the State of Wisconsin.
3. Two years of teaching experience (include teaching of Nursing Assistant courses) preferred.
4. Two years recent (within the past five years) work experience in Home Health Care, or other health care settings which utilizes Nursing Assistants.Supplemental Information
The Instructor – Nursing Assistant position supports the School of Health and is available to start by June 1st, 2024.
This is a full-time instructor position on a flexible year-round calendar. Teaching assignments include variable hours, including days, evenings and weekends.
