This position is 40 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm in the Outpatient Clinics.

- · Transports patients to aquatic therapy for scheduled appointments and remains with patients when required and/or until transferred to aquatic staff.
- · Assists patients with changing clothes, toileting, and treatments.
- · Identifies and reports changes in patients’ physical/emotional health to a licensed nurse.
- · Transports laboratory specimens and other requested items to appropriate areas as assigned.
- · Provides assistance to aquatic patients with showering, dressing, and transferring.
- · Assists with triage process by obtaining and recording accurate and complete weights, heights, vital signs and head circumferences in the electronic health record.
- · Prepares exam and triage rooms prior to the start of clinic and between each patient and escorts patient/family to assigned exam room.
- · Assists with examinations, treatments and procedures performed in the OPD including assisting phlebotomist with obtaining required blood specimens, and completing required tracking logs and obtaining appropriate signatures on logs.
- · Maintains competency in techniques and skills required for the habilitation/rehabilitation of patients with a developmental disability.
- · Ensures exam and triage rooms are stocked with supplies and paperwork.
- · Cleans toys according to Kennedy Krieger Institute infection control guidelines.
- · Presents him/herself in a professional manner by communicating with outpatient staff, patients and families in a tactful and considerate manner.
Education:
1. High School Graduate or equivalent.
2. Certified Nursing Assistant certificate required.
Experience: Minimum of one year clinical and/or pediatric experience preferred.
