Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Baltimore, MD 21201
Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract
Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00) OR (19:00 - 07:00) AND rotating weekends and holidays
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: $1,814-$2,117/week
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our dynamic team. As an integral member of our Radiology/Cardiology department, you will provide specialized care and support in the field of Interventional Radiology. This position offers a 13-week renewable contract, providing an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills and contribute to exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of specialized radiographic procedures in the Interventional Radiology setting, including but not limited to angiography, fluoroscopy, and vascular interventions.
- Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and adherence to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and accuracy.
- Assist physicians during procedures by providing sterile instruments, monitoring patients' vital signs, and documenting procedure details.
- Administer contrast media under the supervision of a physician, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor patients' condition before, during, and after procedures, addressing any concerns or complications promptly.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure efficient workflow, timely patient care, and accurate documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control and radiation safety protocols.
- Provide patient education and support, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and promoting a positive patient experience.
Requirements:
- Valid certification as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of Maryland.
- Minimum of 1 or more years of experience in Interventional Radiology.
- Experience with angiography, fluoroscopy, and vascular interventions is preferred.
- Availability to work a 3x12-hour shift schedule, either day shift (07:00 - 19:00) or night shift (19:00 - 07:00).
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as per departmental requirements.
- ACLS certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- First-time travelers with the necessary experience are welcome to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team and interact with patients.
Note: COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory, with medical or religious exemptions permitted. Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
