Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Remote

Seeking to hire a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant to work remote.

Current shifts available:

Full time: Monday - Friday 11-7p

Part time: (A combination of below can also be full time)

• Monday: 7a-1p and 7p-Midnight
• Tuesday: 7p-7a
• Wednesday: 7p-7a, Midnight-7a
• Thursday: 7p-7a
• Friday: 7a-1p, 7p-Midnight and Midnight-7a
• Saturday: 7a-1p, 7p-Midnight and Midnight-7a
• Sunday: 7a-7p (can be split 7a-1p / 1-7p) and Midnight-7a

Option for additional Per-Diem shifts as well.

Should be Comfortable with management of (including but not limited to): hypertension, diabetes with insulin adjustments, pain management, adjusting psychiatric medications in conjunction with psychiatrist recommendations, sepsis work up and management, pneumonia, UTI, CKD, COPD, cellulitis, heart failure, dementia, electrolyte imbalances, ordering appropriate antibiotics (IV and oral) for various medical conditions

MUST BE CURRENTLY LICENSED IN NEW YORK.

Responsibilities:

• Cover our on call provider line, which currently covers multiple subacute rehab and skilled nursing facilities in NYS.
• Review labs, radiology reports, medications, consults, pharmacist recommendations
• Prescribe medications including narcotics and controlled substances when needed.
• Prescribe and order a variety of IV medications, IV fluids
• Order diagnostic testing when needed (labs, x-rays, fluids, UA etc.)
• Send to ED or refer to specialists when needed
• When not on a call, other remote work as delegated by Director of Remote Provider Services

Requirements:

• Medical degree from accredited program.
• Board certified in field of practice.
• Active NY license to practice in field.
• Current and active New York DEA (Other states DEA does not satisfy this requirement)
• Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics.
• Ability to work independently
• 2-3 years experience in primary care or geriatrics/SNF or internal medicine / hospital medicine
