An FQHC in New York City is looking for a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing team in the Bronx.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 6 months w/ possibility of extension
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Specialty: Primary Care
- Setting: Outpatient Community Health Center
***Local providers only, familiarity with the Bronx is helpful.***
Responsibilities:
The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant will:
- Identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those infants, adolescent, or geriatric patients
- Take histories, perform physical examinations, give immunizations (as necessary) and does patient education and counseling
- Order appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams
- Prescribe treatment for minor illnesses, and consults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referrals when appropriate
- Maintain legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically
- Attend continuing education programs to increase skills and knowledge
- Attend provider meetings and participates in quality improvement programs and team assignments
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- NYS Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant (PA) license
- Board-Certified
