Seeking a Nurse Manager for a key leadership position responsible forthe daily operation, clinical supervision, and overall management. This roleinvolves collaboration with the Director to ensure the delivery of high-qualitypatient care, adherence to regulatory standards, and implementation ofevidence-based clinical management practices. The Nurse Manager is a vital linkbetween administrative functions and clinical excellence, playing a crucialrole in maintaining positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff.
Compensation: $123,000 - $133,900
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day oversight of activities within the Inpatient Service.
- Ensures the delivery of quality patient care consistent with regulatory agency standards and evidence-based clinical management.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with patients, visitors, and employees.
- Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with all stakeholders.
- Implements hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory codes relevant to the Department of Nursing.
- Collaborates with the Director for effective unit operations and management.
- Coordinates interdisciplinary performance improvement activities.
- Utilizes appropriate benchmarks to enhance clinical practices and outcomes.
- Assembles and prepares data for clinical activities and other statistical reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Ensures compliance with reporting standards set by relevant authorities.
- Reviews and monitors admissions and discharges for appropriate clinical management and discharge planning.
- Assumes overall responsibility for unit operations 24/7.
- Ensures compliance with PCS Scope of Service, Philosophy of Nursing, and Ethical Standards.
- Participates in continuing education to enhance administrative and clinical knowledge and skills.
- Innovates and implements best practices in care delivery.
- Manages budgeting, supply, and inventory maintenance as deemed necessary.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborates on HCAPS development with the team and focuses on service outcome improvement.
- Develops and implements a communication plan to enhance team collaboration and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing school with a BSN.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience.
- Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- ACLS required.
- PALS (preferred for Pediatric, PICU, and NICU) preferred for all other areas.
- NRP (preferred for L&D, MBU, and NICU) preferred for all other areas.
- Certification in the area of specialty required.
