About the Job – LPN Nurse Consultant
You will be responsible for the clinical evaluation and treatment of clients to promote health and well-being. In this position you will supervise medical and/or nursing care services as prescribed by the physician. You will provide consultation to the program in regulation interpretation and in pursuing the optimal level of health care services available. You will work in coordination with the Manager of Nursing Services.
What you will do – LPN Nurse Consultant:
- Implements medical guidelines in accordance with facility policy, values, and applicable regulations
- Teaches and trains Associates in the delivery and monitoring of client health care/needs
- Provides input to Client conferences
- Monitors medication processes for all clients which includes but is not limited to:Medication side effects
Teaching & training of Associates
Development and maintenance of accurate medication administration records
Ensuring proper, safe handling and storage of medications and treatments
- Communicates health care coordination with other staff, families, legal representatives, and professionals involved in each client’s care
- Intercedes with physicians when needed to insure coordination of client health care and communication
- Provides on-call coverage on a rotating basis
- Maintains current and accurate documentation within client records
- Coordinates client medical needs in accordance with state and federal regulations
About You:
- Must have a minimum of a Licensed Practical Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Current license to practice from the Indiana State Board of Registration for Licensed Practical Nurses
