As Nurse Consultants, participate as a member of the survey team for surveys of healthcare facilities to ensure facilities’ compliance with state and federal rules and regulations;
2. Review of medical staff bylaws, medical staff rules & regulations, and medical staff credentialing processes;
3. Assist the Department in review of hospital and other healthcare facility quality assurance and performance improvement programs related to medical staff;
4. At the request of Department, assist surveyors in complaint investigations relative to medical staff care and services;
5. Provide consultations to Department staff related to medical issues; and
6. Provide education regarding healthcare topics to Department staff, healthcare facilities, and other key stakeholders of Department at the request of Department.

Schedule
Working hours 8-5 40 hr./week. 1 hr lunch (flexible) work remotely and on site for complaint investigations
Qualifications:
- Knowledge, Skills and Certifications
Specific qualifications needed to perform the job including, necessary licenses, knowledge, skills, education, experience, training, and technical skills.
o Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements for the types of healthcare providers listed above;
o CMS Certification in any or all of the types of providers listed above;
o Knowledge of CMS’s databases ASPEN and/or iQIES;
o Experience working in the types of healthcare providers listed above;
o Demonstrated critical thinking skills;
o Knowledge of CMS’s Principles of Documentation;
o Knowledge of State human resource practices and policies;
o Ability to lead a team of people with diverse skills, knowledge, and backgrounds;
o Ability to build and lead teams; and
o Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
