Eng Technician Ii

Volt is immediately hiring an Electronic Technician in San Antonio, TX with a well-known industry leader. The person hired for this role will support new upcoming product introduction. The goal will be to develop and commercialize the next generation disposable system for civilian and military use. This project will require design and development of electro-mechanical devices and soft goods intended for clinical use.
This is a first shift position.
As an Electronic Technician you will be responsible for:

• Reading and interpreting schematics
• Soldering, wiring, and cable/connector construction
• Ordering parts and components from a Bill of Materials
• Test method development and set-up
• Development of test fixturing
• Execution of testing for development and verification purposes
• Test data collection in bench testing environment
• Use of DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators

This is a full time contingent opportunity.
Estimated Duration 24+ months.
The ideal candidate will have:

• Associates degree in related field or equivalent vocational experience
• 5 or more years of related experience in a technical environment
• Must be able to build and test electronic prototypes
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical engineering schematics
• Must be able to run experiments in repeatable manner and accurately document results
• Familiarity with Data acquisition systems
• Experience with standardized testing protocols and reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity/experience with GLP environments
• Experience in regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, etc.)
• Experience with test method development
• Experience working in project team settings or working in a matrix organization
• Experience with MS Office suite of applications
• Experience with quoting new materials and components with suppliers

Pay Rate: $26.00-26.71 hr.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
