Class Schedule
- Monday - Friday
- Classroom dates - February 19th- March 15th 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Clinical dates - March 18-20 and March 25-27 12:00pm – 8:30pm
Work Schedule (after completion of education program):
- Available shifts: 6:00am – 2:30pm; 2:00pm - 10:30pm; 10:00pm – 6:30am
- Full-time or part-time
- Every other weekend, with schedules that include up to 4 weekdays per week
Benefit eligibility:
- FT = eligible for all benefits at date of hire
- PT = eligible for all benefits at date of hire (60+ hours bi-weekly)
- PT = eligible for most benefits at date of hire (40+ hours bi-weekly)
The starting base rate of pay during the program is $13.25 per hour. A pay increase to $15.50 will be provided once the Nurse Aide Certification is obtained in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Shift and weekend differentials are in addition to base pay.
Requirements:- Willingness to commit to 1-year of employment at VMRC upon completion of the Nurse Aide program.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the basics of the English language in order to understand and carry out oral and written assignments.
- Perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision; be self-motivated.
- Ability to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes.
- Availability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled.
- Act and intervene independently in routine and emergency situations.
- Deal tactfully with residents, patients, families, and the general public in a positive, professional, and customer-first manner.
- Must become certified as a Nurse Aide in the Commonwealth of Virginia within 120 days after the completion of the program.
