Florida Heart Associates is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing large cardiology practice. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform Nuclear Medicine cardiac procedures as requested by the provider applying the proper scan protocols.
Located in the attractive Southwest Florida Gulf Coast area, Florida Heart Associates is a fully accredited, modern medical center dedicated to meeting the cardiac needs of Southwest Florida. We perform diagnostic cardiac testing, in addition to peripheral vascular procedures. We also support an in-house cardiac PET imaging system, stress testing, ECHO, and management of arrhythmia equipment.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine training program.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with cardiac imaging and I.V. puncture skills required.
- Candidate MUST have a minimum of 5 years of Nuclear Cardiac Imaging.
- Cardiac PET/CT experience preferred.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
- Registered in Nuclear Medicine (ARRT or CNMT)
- Current Florida license in Nuclear Medicine Technology
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Start I.V.’s and inject radiopharmaceuticals.
- Perform cardiac imaging and analysis.
- Perform quality control on cameras and hot lab instruments.
- Radiation safety procedures and record keeping.
- Archive scan data.
- Assist cardiologist and nurse in emergency situations.
- Assist with maintaining accreditation and following guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervising manager
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Skill in intravenous puncture skills.
- Knowledge of cardiac scanning principles and SPECT imaging.
- Understanding of radiation protection and A.L.A.R.A. principles.
- Ability to critique image quality, troubleshoot technical issues and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Skill in attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate clearly with co-workers and patients.
- Ability to behave in a manner that exemplifies respect for others and the spirit of teamwork.
- Ability to use methods of protection from chemical, radiation, and bio-hazardous materials
