Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist who, under minimal supervision, can perform basic Nuclear Medicine procedures as requested by a licensed physician. This role involves using radiopharmaceuticals and Nuclear Medicine equipment to assist in the diagnosis or treatment of patients across all age groups, from newborns to the elderly.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and Nuclear Medicine equipment.
- Aid practitioners with the operation of radiation detection equipment.
- Order radiopharmaceuticals for Nuclear Medicine procedures and prepare them for injection, ingestion, or inhalation.
- Identify radioactive substances needed to complete procedures.
- Process and file films when required.
- Work under minimal supervision while completing established competencies within the introductory period.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Strong professional judgment in providing healthcare services.
- Demonstrated expertise in the area of Nuclear Medicine.
- 1+ years of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
- Must be willing to take and respond to standby/call duties.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Familiarity with modern Nuclear Medicine procedures and equipment.
Required Licenses, Training, and Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current State of California Nuclear Medicine certification.
- ARRT in Nuclear Medicine.
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
