Job Title: Sleep Technician/Medical Assistant

Location: Roseville Clinic

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Lead Sleep Tech

Duties include:

• Perform screenings for sleep apnea (STOP BANG)

• Obtain and track authorizations

• Schedule related testing

• Prepare and mail home sleep devices (to include packing, preparing labels, etc.)

• Perform data entry in AirView (patient demographics, symptoms, medical history)

• Assist in programming/paring home sleep devices

• Conduct patient education

• Download/verify data from sleep devices

• Upload completed studies to EMR

• Disinfect/restock equipment

• Update spreadsheets

• Track devices and maintain logs

• Track HSAT inventory (cannulas, batteries, tape, mailers, labels, etc.)

• Order supplies as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school graduation or GED. Graduation from an accredited MA program.
  • Two or more years of related work experience a plus.
  • Credentialed Medical Assistant (RMA, CMA, CCMA) preferred.
  • Current certification in CPR / Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare provider.
  • Strong computer skills. Experience with an EMR preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, patients and the general public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to file and maintain patient records, files and other correspondence.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and juggle multiple priorities
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Valid California driver’s license and automobile insurance. Ability to drive to different clinics and run occasional errands.

Physical Requirements Include: Frequent sitting, standing and walking. Must be able to use fingers/hands to bend, push, pull and lift. May be required to perform repetitive motions and lift up to 25-30 pounds.
