Expro is currently recruiting for a Sales Representative to join the Field Sales team based in Odessa, TX.
Overall Purpose of the Job: Increase revenues through sales of tubular products and oilfield services to new and existing customers.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
- This position consists of field sales, city sales and travel for sales.
- Develop annual sales growth plan.
- Develop and maintain long term customer relationships.
- Develop and maintain contact with key decision makers within the customer base.
- Assist other sales personnel, customers and potential customers on the technical issues of the products.
- Work with sales staff and engineering to propose changes in existing products and the introduction of new ones.
- Provide input as to changing market conditions of customers to assist in the development of the marketing strategy.
- Submit bids to existing and potential customers as needed.
- Relate field/customers issues to Location/Department Manager and assist in the resolution of the issue.
- Routinely meet with customers, management and worksites to ensure that product/service is meeting customer expectations.
- Know and understand Company policies and comply with all requirements of set policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development of new project proposals.
- Assist with and prepare presentations, proposals, and tenders.
- Carry out work assignments in a timely manner and to the highest quality level.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts and coordinate the management of all other accounts.
- Professionally represent the Company to effectively sell the company’s products and services.
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
- Position requires regular and consistent customer face to face contact.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information or feedback gathered through sales activities to appropriate company staff.
- Coordinate with company staff to accomplish the work needed to close sales.
- Coordinate with local area managers, field Sales Representatives and safety representatives to effectively coordinate the company’s sales efforts.
- Coordinate with company legal department and the customer on Master Service Agreements.
- Represent the company at numerous industry and company sponsored events.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Work requires significant local travel. Will require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent diploma.
- 5-10 years of oilfield/services or product sales experience within local district (base salary commensurate with experience)
- Valid driver’s license.
- Competence in current computer programs applicable to Company requirements (ie MS Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Good communication skills, responsibility skills and leadership qualities.
- Ability to effectively liaise and develop rapport with customers and personnel at all managerial levels.
- Initiative in problem solving, demonstrated sense of urgency and follow through.
- Ability to work on projects individually, as part of a team and/or act as a team leader.
- Satisfactory results of pre-employment screening (ie background, drug/alcohol, physical).
