Job description

You will serve as a Nondestructive Test Inspector in the NDT Production Support Branch, Nondestructive Test and Nonnuclear Inspection Division, Code 135.3 Quality Assurance Office of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.Qualifications: Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

Applying a comprehensive knowledge of component geometrics, material compositions, potential reflector types, signal characteristics, etc., for the correct interpretation of test results.
Interpreting and comprehending diagrams, blueprints, specifications, and interrelated procedure and technical requirements.
Providing direction and resolution to shop supervisors, ship's force, and design personnel to identify and correct reject conditions.
