NGS Lab Manager - Hayward, CA
The NGS Lab Project Manager works within the NGS operations team, under the supervision of Senior NGS Lab Project Manager, and collaborates with key stakeholders across the organization, including Business Development, Project Management, Clinical Development, Production Informatics, and Bioinformatics. The NGS Lab Project management team manages all projects within the NGS Operations portfolio, ensuring projects move forward as effectively and successfully as possible. The NGS LabProject Manager will play a key role in supporting NGS projects, maintaining timelines and schedules, and supporting cross functional activities.
The NGS Lab Project Manager must understand NGS workflow in liquid biopsy, have excellent attention to detail, a strong sense of responsibility, effective communication skills to share changes, issues, and challenges, and the ability to respond to change with flexibility and to adapt quickly to evolving circumstances.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain biopharma and research RUO projects timelines.
- Serve as point of contact between NGS operations and relevant stakeholders/teams.
- Communicate progress and timelines towards company goals through daily to weekly updates within NGS operations team.
- Host weekly meetings to discuss project timelines/status and maintain meeting minutes.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders/teams to track progress, identify risks/delays, and communicate to company leadership and relevant stakeholders/teams.
- Document and track NGS projects using systems such as JIRA, Confluence, or other PM-related software.
- Facilitate discussions between relevant stakeholders/teams on execution plans for non-standard sample types and assays.
- Track, monitor and report key NGS operational metrics.
- Assures compliance with all regulatory requirements and assists with QMS and audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in biological science or a related field from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree or above is preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS) or cancer genetics.
- Experience in project management and working with project management tools.
- Solid organizational skills and detail-oriented to drive tasks to completion.
- Ability to proactively communicate consistently and clearly with individuals and teams internally and externally.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision, in a rapid-paced environment and a matrix operating setting.
- Excellent ability to problem-solving.
- Ability to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.

The posted salary range is the estimated base salary range for this position. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly.
