New Home Construction Services Technician

Job Summary:

The Construction Services Technician is responsible for performing light construction duties during construction and near completion to finish (“punch-out”) New Homes to a high-quality standard, as well as perform post-closing services to ensure the quality and function of the New Home during the one-year warranty period.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify and repair construction workmanship defects
• Be respectful and courteous while working in people’s homes
• Communicate with homeowners effectively during service calls
• Coordinate & monitor sub-contractors to complete assigned duties
• Provide a high level of customer satisfaction
• Perform the Following Construction Duties as Needed:
• Sanding, scraping, and painting
• Drywall repairs and paint touch-ups
• Grout and caulking
• Trim, baseboard, and door installation
• Install fixtures and hardware
• Cleaning and debris removal
• Remove forms from concrete
• Add nails or screws to floors, when necessary, to stop squeaks.
• Adjusts doors. Rehang doors if necessary.
• Cleans out window tracks and installs screens.
• Tests all other kitchen appliances to make sure that they are functional
• Install doorknobs and doorstops
• Install/replace lightbulbs.
• Pressure wash concrete, including garage, patio, and driveway
• Completes items on project manager’s final task list
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Clean up window wells and add additional gravel as needed
• Assist Project managers in de-watering operations: pump out excavation sites, operate sump pumps, set up fans & dehumidifiers at rough in stage as needed

Desired Experience:

• 5+ years light construction and/or “handyman” experience
• Prior experience with high-end residential construction or maintenance
• People-oriented person who enjoys serving and interacting with others
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Detail orientated team player with strong work ethic and integrity

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must have skills to perform duties listed above
• Must be at least 18 years old and physically able to perform work assigned
• Work both independently and in a team environment alongside other service technicians and sub-contractors
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl in awkward positions.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be able to work with others as a team
• Must have driver’s license, clean driving record and safe driving skills

Work Hours:
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, overtime as requested and/or approved by Manager. Full attendance each day throughout the week is expected.
