Facilities Technician

Clark Services Group was started in 1988 by Barry Clark. Barry built a great reputation for service and grew the company from the back of a station wagon until he landed at our old shop location: 1200 E Sedgley Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19134. His son, Sam, was brought on, and together they serviced some of the most recognizable names in the area: PECO, PSEG, The School District of Philadelphia, Pat Steaks, Jefferson Hospital, University of Pennsylvania, and The Philadelphia Zoo. In February with Barry retiring, Sam wanted to find a partner to help scale the business. Marc and Jeff came in and have since moved the shop to its current address and put in place the financial backing, people, and process to become the fastest growing regional player in the space.
Our goal is not only to grow and grow fast but to find people that fit our TEAM and advance their career with us.

As a technician, you will be performing services that Clark Services Group offers along with a technician or a technician's assistant on each job. These services include but are not limited to: Duct Cleaning, Coil Cleaning, Power Washing, and Kitchen Hood Cleaning. Keep in mind that we expect every to learn all of the servces we perform so they can step in when we're busy. We service hospitals, restaurants, schools, universities, and more! Most weeks we work 4 - 10 hour days and have 3-day weekends to make up for the evening/night shift.

-Our normal shift is from 6PM - 4AM Monday - Thursday (Everyone is off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

• Solve problems (Some examples below):
• Troubleshoot the pressure washer or air compressor
• Find the boot print that shouldn't be there and have it cleaned
• Notice a crack in a ceiling tile to let us know
• Identify issues before they become an issue

Applicant Qualifications:

• A valid driver's license
• Our larger clients require proof of vaccination from all of our employees. We offer a 14-day grace period to get your first shot if you haven't already.
• Ability to work with your hands (for example - ability to use common tools)
• The ability to lift 50 pounds up an extension ladder daily
• An up-to-date Android or IOS phone with the ability to run our service application, Slack, Gmail, and take 100 photos per day (these can be deleted daily)
• Must be able to pass a 5-panel drug test
• Our larger clients require proof of vaccination from all of our employees. We offer a 14-day grace period to get your first shot if you haven't already.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule - a few day shifts, evening shifts, and sometimes an overnight shift.
• Punctual, responsible, & hardworking (the job can be physical)
• We seek happy, outgoing, energetic candidates.
• 1+ years of skilled trade experience is preferred
• Overtime is available for those who want it.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Paychecks: You are paid on the 15th and Last Day of every month via direct deposit for your base salary. The incentive plan is paid out quarterly.

401(k) Match: Contributions by you up to 4% of your Base Salary will be matched by the Company.

Raises: All employees will receive a 3-5% pay raise per year on their anniversary of employment along with a performance review. Our goal is for you to make a career out of this. With good performance in 20 years this position pays over $100,000 per year. If you take care of us, WE WILL TAKE TAKE CARE OF YOU!

Healthcare: 100% of the premium paid by the Company for you for your participation in the Company plans, provided that the cost of adding any of your family members to the plans will be borne solely by you.

PTO: 10 days, increasing annually by 1 additional day (capped at 20 days per year). Up to 5 days may be rolled over from year to year. All full time employees get 10 days of PTO (vacation/sick) time a year unless noted in their employment agreement. 10 days of vacation are earned throughout the year in pay periods. Initially, you receive 3.33 hours per pay period (on the 15th and last day of the month). The expectation is that you will not be allowed to go in the negative on hours. The whole idea is that you do not earn all of your time off when you start but accrue it throughout the year.

On-Time - Lombardi Time: Never be late. If your shift starts at 6 PM we expect you at the shop at 5:45. It makes everyone else on the team late!

YOU SHOULDN't APPLY IF:

-You don’t like getting dirty… We use hot water pressure washers to clean grease, steamers to clean dust from coils, and vacuum trucks to pump out grease traps!!! You will get wet, greasy, and dirty!

-Your body can’t take a beating… We often have to climb ladders with equipment, crawl in small access doors, and work long shifts (You’re rewarded with three days off a week to make up for it). The only time you will be able to sit down will be on the ride to and from a job.

-You can’t work in a fast-paced environment. The company was started in 1988 but took on a large investment in 2021 with the goal of growing. It’s much like a startup…. We have to figure some things out as we go. We want to find people that will step up when they need to and reward them for it.

-You are unwilling to learn and work hard… “Hire character, train skill.” We will teach you but you need to be willing to put in the time and effort.

-You won’t use our technology… We use Slack for inter-company communications, Trainual for online training, and a Service App (shows your schedule, clock in and out, provides job notes/steps and requires you to take before & after photos).

-You don't have a VALID driver's license

Your ideal first year at Clark Services Group can have you receiving TWO raises. The first is for your promotion to Lead Technician. The second is automatic on your one-year work anniversary.

Attainable hourly pay within the first year = $30.14 per hour or $62,691 per year.
