As a Network Services Specialist, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, and documentation of the organization's networked systems.
In this role you will:
- Maintain network standards and procedures; perform diagnostics on networking problems, and implement corrective action as required
- Participate in the evaluation of hardware and software products; perform and document additions, deletions, and changes to each system assigned
- Respond to network change notices as directed
- Maintain system performance monitoring procedures
- Work with vendors and suppliers to establish maintenance policies
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum 1 year experience required: Previous systems administration, installation, and software configuration and one year on current operating system
- 3 years experience preferred: 3 years previous systems administration, installation, and software configuration and one year on current operating system
- 2 year degree required: Technical training in IT related discipline or equivalent experience; 4 year degree preferred
Proficient in the following:
- Network Technologies (OSI Model) (TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, OSPF, etc.)
- Network Services (DHCP, DNS, FTP, etc.)
- Network Applications (Voice, E-mail, VPN, Firewall, etc.)
- Network Physical Layer (Routers, Switches, T1, DS3, and Ethernet)
- Enterprise System Management (System configuration, monitoring, and reporting)
Additional Skills:
- Organizational, project management and time management skills
- Problem solving skills and the ability to research technical issues using various resources
- Oral and written communication skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information to others and effectively interact and communicate with senior organizational levels
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- Able to lift 50 pounds
Pay details: The expected rate of pay for this position is $70,000-90,000 annually.
