We are seeking aNetwork Operations Technician for a 6-12+ month fully remote contract (with potential for extension or to convert to perm). This is for a top telecom company and a fortune 200 company.
Requirements:
- Actively troubleshoot several service types such as T1, DS3, and Ethernet Solutions
- Escalate and hold LEC Partners accountable for offnet repairs.
- Provides accurate and consistent customer communication during established intervals using phone, email, and ticketing notes.
- Efficiently and accurately manages customer-initiated trouble tickets to resolution.
- Monitors the performance of the telecommunications networks, including usage, load patterns and system response.
Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of the OSI networking model physical, data link, and network layers (T1, DS3, Ethernet solutions, LECs)
- A proven track record troubleshooting technical network issues.
- Communicate with customers and others in a repair situation.
- Demonstrating proficiency with Trouble Ticketing application and other internal tools.
- Experience with installation and configuration of cisco routers and switches.
- to effectively manage multiple issues simultaneously thorough effective work prioritization
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and logical thinking when under pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership profile to proactively track and escalate issues, engage resources to expedite service/network outages, professional interaction skills with customers and management.
- Experience with VOIP products.
- Associate degree OR equivalent education / relevant experience.
- Minimum 5+ related experience in specific area or equivalent.
Preferred:
Any certificates of training in associated fields/equipment (Cisco, Juniper, CCNE/CCNA, JNCIA/JNCIS, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CCNP, ect.)
