Network Operations System Administrator 
Victor 12 is seeking a Network Operations System Administrator to support a 5-year prime contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) based in Orlando, Florida. This position is a 100% remote/work-from-home opportunity.
Job Summary
The Network Operations Systems Administrator works closely with the Program Manager and Team Leads to provide technical leadership and Subject Matter Expert (SME) level support to other systems administrators on configuration best practices. This role interacts with vendor partners, including Dell and Palo Alto, and other hardware technicians to support and troubleshoot service inquiries and problems. The Network Operations Systems Administrator analyzes recurring problems, initiates solutions for preventing reoccurrence, analyzes existing infrastructure for tuning/performance enhancements, and implements appropriate corrective action to initiate a repair or return to operation. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team player who is interested in learning the latest technology with a proven ability to learn quickly and apply training to solve real-world infrastructure problems.
The Network Operations Systems Administrator lead applicant:

• Manages and administers a new Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) with a complex Dell EMC VxRailplatform, Palo Alto security appliance, and other supporting datacenter hardware.
• Conducts active monitoring and troubleshooting of environment and responds to alerts and errors.
• Documents, reviews, and updates system administration guides and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Recommends, tests, and implements system and security upgrades to maintain a secure environment.
• Conducts proactive maintenance on devices to ensure a highly available, reliable, and redundant system environment.
• Traces and troubleshoots issues from the physical to the application layer and possesses knowledge of the entire OSI  model.
• Assists other System Administrators with troubleshooting virtual machines.
• Interacts with Government customers and senior managers to handle service requests, inquiries, and problems.
• Communicates technical issues to technical team and non-technical program stakeholders.
• Collaborates with team members and customer stakeholders via video-enabled messaging applications such as MS Teams or Webex.
• Visits onsite datacenter, as required, to perform preventive maintenance or administer network equipment.
• Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, remains attuned to new technologies, and collaborates with leadership to evolve current processes.
• Downloads, stages, and deploys systems-related security policies and updates to maintain information system compliance with DISA security policies and procedures.
• Administers Microsoft and Linux in a virtualized server environment.  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience as a Network Systems Administrator  

• Proven, relevant experience configuring and deploying HCI solutions such as Dell VXRail.
• Strong background in firewall technologies, such as Palo Alto, and in intrusion detection, prevention, and mitigation.
• Understanding of core major cloud solution providers (i.e., Azure, Amazon Web Services [AWS], or similar).
• Demonstrated competency with server, storage, backup and restore, disaster recovery, and network fundamentals.
• Experience with performance monitoring, troubleshooting, tuning, and optimization of VMware environment.
• Ability to pass a National Service Criminal History Check (NSCHC) and drug screen.
• Ability to obtain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card to support customers (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident only).
• Ability to work remotely and independently in a distraction-free environment with minimal supervision, along with excellent organization, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams and program managers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Customer service skills and experience.
• Strong organization and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.
• Dell Specialist or Expert certifications.
• 5+ years of implementation and solution design experience.
• BS Degree in related field, Computer Science, Information Systems or Systems Engineering.
