SalaryNetwork Engineer
Provide onsite and remote support to the Mark Center Internet Security Stack by operating and maintaining a secure commercial internet connection. This focuses on two major parts. The network and devices supporting the Intrusion Detection System/Intrusion Prevention System and the customer environments.
In this role, you will be a senior technical maintaining and upgrading an unclassified network conducting operational support and engineering and technical support. The team will maintain the current system and devices, but will also support the analysis and recommendations for future upgrades and improvements. Responsible for troubleshooting normal operations and maintaining a high-availability network for the client. Other responsibilities include cable plant management and performance analysis.
Responsibilities Include
- Maintain performance standards for the network devices
- Proactively monitor and maintain devices
- Support security, hardware, and software patches
- Respond to network issues
- Maintain firewalls, administer and maintain network IP addresses,
- Document processes and able to analyze and recommend improvements in processes or technologies
- Update and maintain relevant passive cable plant onsite
- Assist new customers, issues, and resolve service requests
Qualifications, Experience, and Knowledge
- Combination of education and experience to lead others in maintaining SLAs
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving outages or service degradation issues
- Prior experience with IAVAs and working with IA teams
- ITIL experience and able to train others in ITIL processes
- Maintain Radius server utilizing Cisco ISE
- Knowledge of SAN administration
- Experience with various IT services monitoring stacks
- Performance of network utilization, performance, and configuration
Certification and Clearance
- US Citizenship required
- Current High Public Trust or DoD Secret
- IAT Level 2
Location
Hybrid location with primarily remote work with some onsite work at Mark Center and Pentagon
