Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls (Vendors: Cisco, Meraki, Versa, Sophos, HP, and SonicWall).
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal disruption. (Auvik, NPM, Ncentral, 1keyes, Cisco DNAC).
- Collaborate with the architect team to gather requirements and design network solutions that meet customer needs.
- Conduct regular network assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry best practices and internal policies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the ServiceDesk/NOC and other IT staff.
- Handle assigned customer tickets and project work in the expected timeframe.
- Communicate ticket and project status with internal employees and customers.
- Participate in on-call rotation schedule.
- Possible 10-20% travel to client sites for project work and/or troubleshooting issues.
Requirements
- Preferred bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred Cisco certifications (CCENT, CCNA) or similar network certifications.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Network Engineer or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and Static routing.
- Experience with troubleshooting/monitoring tools such as Cisco FMC (Firewall Management Center), Cisco DNA, Stealth watch, 1keyes, IT Glue, Ruckus Vsz, and Meraki dashboard.
- Hands-on experience with installing and configuring Cisco switches.
- Strong understanding of Wireless troubleshooting (Vendors: Ruckus, Ubiquity).
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. (Auvik, NPM, Ncentral)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
